Mary Wash Giving Day

Calling all Graduates of the Last Decade, AKA GOLD Alumni! From 4-6 p.m., your gift to the Fund for Mary Washington will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Lisa Jamison Bowling ’89, Vice President for Advancement and University Relations. Gifts of $50 or less to the Fund for Mary Washington, from the Classes of 2011-2020, qualify for this match. Your $10 gift will become $20; your $25 gift will become $50; your $50 gift will become $100!

Show your love for the 540 (F'burg's area code, in case you forgot)! Jay Sinha '07 and Miriam McCue '16 are calling on their fellow alums (pun intended) to give on Giving Day. If we reach 540 gifts by 10:00 a.m., we will unlock their $1,540 gift to UMW. Get up early with Jay and Miriam and ANSWER THE CALL by making your morning gift!

Robert J. '96 and Sarah Gildersleeve Strassheim '01 have been Mary Wash Giving Day supporters since the very beginning! This year, they’re challenging everyone who loves Mary Washington to join them in giving back. If we reach our goal of 3,000 gifts on Giving Day, Rob and Sarah will give $9,000 to support the Fund for Mary Washington and student scholarships – AND they will pledge an additional $36,000 in the coming years. A group of loyal Theatre donors has challenged us to bring in 300 gifts on Mary Wash Giving Day. If UMW Theatre receives 300 gifts on April 13, loyal donors will unlock a $27,500 gift to support our theatre students and their work! Russell and Barbara Stone Mait ’79 and Heather Gebbia Knapp ’93 have come together to issue this challenge to Great Lives supporters. In honor of Dr. Crawley's 51 years of service to Mary Washington and tireless dedication to the Great Lives Lecture Series: if 51 gifts are made to the Great Lives Lecture Series, it will unlock Russell and Barbara’s gift of $2,500 to the Great Lives Lecture Series. If 75 gifts are made to Great Lives by midnight tonight, it will unlock Heather’s gift of $2,500 to the Great Lives Lecture Series for a total of $5,000 total in support for the program.

The Paul and Jane Jones Trust (Walter Sheffield, Trustee) will match all gifts to the James Monroe Museum dollar-for-dollar, up to $3,000. Make your gift and DOUBLE your impact!
