Gifts to the Campus Preservation Fund support an interactive living and learning experience for Mary Washington’s students. For more than a century, the University of Mary Washington has been at the forefront of innovative and creative learning for students seeking a quality liberal arts and sciences education. Today, Mary Washington’s Fredericksburg campus serves as a timeless monument to our wonderful traditions and as an inspiration for UMW’s future.
To ensure iconic buildings like Willard Hall and Virginia Hall continue to serve students in the best way possible, the University has created the Campus Preservation Fund. These buildings, however, require continuous care and ongoing maintenance. Preserving their beauty and functionality is an expensive undertaking, and typically is not supported by state funds. Gifts to the Campus Preservation Fund will help UMW prepare for the future.
The preservation and reimagining of Willard and Virginia Halls remain true to the University’s rich past while adapting to and embracing the ever-changing needs of students. The renovated buildings will support UMW’s strategic plan by enhancing and expanding opportunities for on-campus student engagement and learning while providing important modern-day necessities and the latest technology.
