Mary Wash Giving Day

Calling all Graduates of the Last Decade, AKA GOLD Alumni! From 4-6 p.m., your gift to the Fund for Mary Washington will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Lisa Jamison Bowling ’89, Vice President for Advancement and University Relations. Gifts of $50 or less to the Fund for Mary Washington, from the Classes of 2011-2020, qualify for this match. Your $10 gift will become $20; your $25 gift will become $50; your $50 gift will become $100!

Let’s go for a grand by lunchtime! If we hit our target of 1,000 gifts by noon on Giving Day, a $3,000 challenge gift to the Fund for Mary Washington from Susan Leavitt ‘83 will be unlocked.

Robert J. '96 and Sarah Gildersleeve Strassheim '01 have been Mary Wash Giving Day supporters since the very beginning! This year, they’re challenging everyone who loves Mary Washington to join them in giving back. If we reach our goal of 3,000 gifts on Giving Day, Rob and Sarah will give $9,000 to support the Fund for Mary Washington and student scholarships – AND they will pledge an additional $36,000 in the coming years. Parent Leadership Circle members Lori and David Underwood P’22 will DOUBLE their fellow UMW parents’ gifts to the Fund for Mary Washington! The Underwoods will match, dollar-for-dollar, each Giving Day gift to the Fund by parents of current UMW students and parents of alumni, up to $2,000. When their full match is unlocked, they will make an additional $500 gift to support the TEAL Peer Educators program in the Center for Prevention and Education.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors wants to double your impact to the Fund for Mary Washington!
