As we look to the future of UMW Athletics, we have an opportunity to strengthen our home turf and honor a true Eagle champion by rejuvenating the Turf Stadium (D Field) Press Box at the Battleground Athletic Complex.
For nearly 30 years, Clint Often has been the voice and advocate for Mary Washington's student-athletes as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Sports Information. Your support of this project will provide a new press box to be named in Clint's honor*.
This #GivingTuesday, your gift goes three times as far! Susan Leavitt '83 will match every dollar you give to the Clint Often Press Box, up to $3,000. Then, Linda Lemanski Blakemore '84 will match it again. That means your $100 becomes $300 supporting the rejuvenation of the Turf Stadium Press Box and celebration of Clint Often.
When we reach our goal of raising the matching $150,000, renovations to the press box will include:
- Modern broadcasting and live-streaming equipment
- Enhanced internet and game-day technology
- Structural and accessibility improvements
- Custom signage to honor Clint and recognize donors
Your support at any level will help make this project possible. Donors who contribute $1,000 or more will also be recognized on the donor plaque installed at the Press Box.
